Date of Loss: September 7, 2018
Brief Facts: The pilot inadvertently turned the boost pump on shortly after departure causing the engine to stop producing power. The ballistic parachute was deployed at low altitude and the tail of the aircraft hit the ground first (into a soybean field), just after the parachute opened. The engine and cowling were nearly separated from the fuselage during impact.
General Description of Damage (May not be limited to the following obvious damage): See attached photos. The aft fuselage was removed to transport the aircraft. -- You are strongly encouraged to inspect the aircraft prior to placing a bid.
